Ohio
Getaway - Find
your Adventure
in the Hocking
Hills. Ohio summers only last about three months. But you can pack
a lot of adventure into those tiny 92 days of
June,
July and August.
Hike. Hike. Hike.
Grab your hiking boots and try exploring all
six regions of Hocking Hills State Park-Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, Old
Man's Cave, Rock House, Cantwell Cliffs and Conkle's Hollow. More
than likely, you can't fit your journey into one day so take a
couple hikes at one time then rent a cabin to renew yourself
overnight and start all over again the next morning.
Canoe the Hocking River.
If
taking
a quick dip in the cool, slow-moving water of the Hocking River
piques your interest, Aaron at Hocking Hills Canoe Livery can fix
you up with a 5-10 mile voyage down stream in a canoe or kayak.
Sit back and dip your fingers in the water or challenge yourself
in the rapids. Whatever your interest, there's an adventure
waiting for you at Hocking Hills Canoe Livery-1-800-634-6820
or www.hockingriver.com.
Got
guts and want to shake them up a bit? Ride the Ride at Lake Hope.
If
you've
got a
mountain bike collecting dust in the garage and your idea of
adventure includes the option of getting a bit sweaty, dust off
the spiderwebs, shove on the bike helmet and find out what it's
like to shake, jiggle and rattle your guts to the extreme. Lake
Hope State Park has over 25 miles of
singletrack open
to mountain bikes. There are plenty of riding options at Lake Hope
from the Hope Furnace Trail Loop to Copperhead Loop. And yes, you
might see a few copperheads along the way.
